Our Missions

GUYANA -  Pilgrim Overseas Missionary Society (POMS) - is a non-profit organization, providing assistance to development projects in Guyana, including providing scholarships for children, and support for reconstruction of churches and Christian camps.

Baramani, Essequibo Region of Guyana - In support of Guyanese missionary, Sister Orpah Singh, Jamaica-Queens has been a regular source of monetary support. In early 2011 our church provided the funding for construction of a school and church. It is hoped that the presence of these facilities, when completed, would encourage neighboring communities to settle closer, and thereby enable them to attend church regularly.

CARIBBEAN - Through our Prayer Groups, there is ongoing support for the funding of barrels of food and clothing to be sent overseas. Foodstuff collected at Thanksgiving is packed by the Wesleyan Women and included in these barrels. They are sent mainly to Guyana, but also to Barbados.  Jamaica-Queens has also contributed toward the planting of a church in St. Lucia.

AFRICA - Our church paid for the drilling of a well in Mozambique. We saw the importance of providing a source of clean water to an area where residents had to walk long distances in search of this important commodity. Also, through the Wesleyan Women, a donation was given toward the acquisition of a well for use by an orphanage in Liberia.

USA - SOUTH OZONE PARK, NEW YORK - The Jamaica Queens church has just planted a new outreach service in the South Ozone section of Queens, New York.  This new church is located at 125-19 133rd Avenue, South Ozone Park, NY 11402, in the basement of a private residence.  Services will be held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and eventually at 9:00 a.m. also, for Sunday School.  We are inviting workers, worshippers and whosoever will, to come and worship with us, and join us as we labour in God's vineyard.
